If you have a financial relationship (accounts, loans, credit cards) with one of these banks that fund the Dakota Access Pipeline and you would like to divest, first set up a new account in a credit union that does not invest in fossil fuel extraction. This guide can help you make a smooth transition.
Then, go to your bank and make a #BankExit by publicly closing your account. Make sure to submit a letter to management explaining that you don't want to finance an institution that profits from human rights abuses and puts our water at risk.

4. ORGANIZE YOUR COMMUNITY
Work with your friends and family to pressure the banks funding Dakota Access Pipeline.
Plan a demonstration, drop a banner in a highly visible location, organize a day for the public to shut down their accounts at the same time. Pray for the water.
Disrupt business as usual.
Tell the Sheriff Departments deployed in Standing Rock that they must immediately stop all violent repression of the water protectors in Standing Rock. Tell your county to withdraw their forces.
Ask your city council representatives to divest your city's money from banks that finance fossil fuel extraction.
